Updating Google+ Local Verified Social Pages

Updating Your Google+ Local Page

Google have confirmed that edits to your business information on your Google+ Local verified social page should be done through the Google Plus dashboard – NOT the Google Places dashboard.

The only exception would be editing details that are not available through Google Plus, such as the categories.

Edits do need to comply with both Google+ Content Guidelines and Google Places Quality Guidelines and Google have introduced a nice new warning that displays when edits are rejected.  This one showed up on my Google+ Local page last week – quite surprising since I haven’t actually edited any of my business information since the merge of Google Places and the Google+ Local business page!

Google+ Local edit not accepted

I’ll put it down to the fact that I am a service area business and really should not have merged my listings.  On a good note the merge went through well, and seems to have completed now with the full Google+ description now showing.

  1. Jan,

ooOO oh my – a video!

I guess I should go check out your other article because this doesn’t make much sense to me (sorry).

I have a Google Places page for my business, but I haven’t updated that since they first came out.
