Ultimate Blog Challenge

Join the Ultimate Blog ChallengeThe Ultimate Blog Challenge starts today (1st April) and it’s not too late to join.  The challenge is to publish 31 posts in 31 days – and yes, that IS a challenge.

Now before you run and hide, take a deep breath and read on.

Each time I have taken part in the UBC, I have gained more email sign ups, new clients, more traffic and comments on my blog and not to mention discovered some really inspirational bloggers and blogs that I would not have seen otherwise.

Taking part in the blog challenge really encourages you to post regularly.  Now, if you haven’t started blogging yet or are an infrequent blogger, I really recommend you join in.

If a month of posts seems too much, that’s ok.  Use the Challenge to set your own pace, commit to 2 or 3 posts a week.  It’s a really great time to collect together all those questions people have about your business and get them answered on your blog.

Here’s a video from co-host Michelle Shaeffer telling you more about the blog challenge:

How do you join in?

  1. Pop over to ultimateblogchallenge.com and sign up.
  2. Read the welcome mail and register on the ultimateblogchallenge.com website
  3. Log in using the name and password you specified and complete your profile
  4. Once logged in, pop over to ultimateblogchallenge.com/blog-directory choose a category and click add url.  Add your details.  These are manually approved so may take a day or so to update.
  5. Join the Facebook group and wait to be approved

Then grab a beverage of your choice and start planning some posts.

UBC works best when you get involved with the community

When you publish your post:

  1. Share it on your social networks
  2. Tweet it using the tag #blogboost
  3. Pop over to the Facebook group and post your link
  4. Scroll down and see if some posts catch your eye, visit the blogs and comment (and share too!)

Need more ideas for your blog posts?

Here on the blog there’s a Month of Blog Ideas for Your Local Business and Blog Brainstorming with Free Keyword Suggestion Tools, check them out!

Facebook Challenge

My friend, Sue is setting up a Facebook Challenge starting 15th April.  Again, it’s free to join in and an ideal opportunity to get to grips with your Facebook Page.

Each day there will be tips to enhance your page, gain more likes and updates to post.  If you sign up for the email reminders too, you’ll receive:

  • A ‘What To Post Today To Grow My Page’ daily idea
  • A ‘Quote Of The Day’ posting tip
  • Daily encouragement to keep going and not give up
  • At the end of the challenge you will receive an ebook compilation of each day of the challenge, so that you can refer back to the challenge content easily

There will be prizes!  I am donating one, although I’m not sure yet what it will be – suggestions are welcome!

Join the Facebook group here and email list here

Over to you…

Are you joining in any of the challenges this month?

Yep, I’m doing UBC and NaBloPoMo (just one post covering both) and I’m signed up for Sue’s challenge as well. It’s a busy month! 🙂

I thought I was crazy with 2, Isobel lol Mind you, you’re killing two birds with one stone this month 🙂 Thanks for popping in and good luck with your challenges!

I’ going to have a look at the Facebook challenge, and I really wish I could do UBC again (I’ve completed it three times). But I’m way too busy creating content for my group program.

    • Jan Kearney says

      April 1, 2013 at 12:30 pm

Busy here too, Linda and only so many hours in the day – I’ve a few posts lined up but won’t be killing myself if I miss a few! See you in the Facebook Challenge too 🙂

        April 1, 2013 at 12:32 pm

I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I didn’t miss a single one 😀 Knowing myself, I’d be working way to hard to get it all done. Maybe next time. I’ve joined the FB Challenge group though 🙂 I really need to get seen in a bigger way.

          April 1, 2013 at 12:41 pm

The last one, I abandoned half way through… Although, every challenge has increased my optins, subscribers and comments so it’s well worth an attempt for me 🙂

          • Linda Ursin says

            April 1, 2013 at 1:34 pm

They’re definitely worth it. I didn’t get more opt-ins, but I got more traffic and comments, and the traffic has stayed almost as high. I might give it a go on my personal blog, but I wouldn’t have a chance in Hel for my business blog, having to stick to the subject for 30 days.

Make your opt in box more noticable, Linda – and slap one everywhere!

            April 1, 2013 at 7:33 pm

            I’ll work on that 🙂

Nice intro. Yes – It is hard to keep a commitment. A while back – I did a Janathon. Where you have to run (or do some form of exercise everyday in January. Much harder that it sounds. Off to queue up some more posts now…

    • Jan Kearney says

      April 1, 2013 at 6:20 pm

Found and rescued you from spam, Jonathan! A Janathon sounds far too energetic for me. Great to see another UK blogger in the Challenge – good luck!

I just joined the facebook challenge too. Getting through April with all the challenges might turn out to be a real challenge. 🙂

I’m in for the challenge–in for the year, in fact. I intend to post one article every day for 2013. At the moment, I’l also participating in the A – Z Challenge as well–different topic daily.

    • jonathan says

      April 1, 2013 at 7:02 pm

One article a day – for 30 days ? wow that’s some task. Do you have a content plan?

      • Jan Kearney says

        April 1, 2013 at 7:09 pm

The honest answer to that, Jonathan is no… I have some posts planned out, but really busy so winging the rest!

Just realised that was a reply to Francene – 365 posts is enough to make my mind explode without some sort of plan lol

    • Jan Kearney says

      April 1, 2013 at 7:08 pm

My head hurts even thinking 1 article per day for a year, Francene! Good luck!

    Hi Jan

Thanks for the invitation but I’ve just joined Sue in her FB challenge and having my own “end of UK tax year” challenge at the moment will give blogging challenge a miss at the moment LOL

But good luck to everyone who takes part.
