Pinterest recently introduced the option to verify your website on your profile. Pinterest is one the fastest growing social media platforms, and recent studies have shown that it drives more traffic and converts more sales than other well established social sites.
As a business owner, website verification on Pinterest is useful because it shows on your profile that you are who you say you are.
I recorded this video last week when I started to feel a bit snuffly. A week on and no sign of not sounding like I’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards, I thought I would post it anyway!
How To Verify Your Website On Pinterest
Verifying your website on Pinterest transcription
Hi, it’s Jan at My Local Business Online and today I want to show you how to verify your website on Pinterest.
First of all you need to go to your Pinterest settings by clicking on the dropdown box. If you scroll down you’ll see where your website is listed. Click verify website.
This verification process is only available for top level domains at the moment. That’s dot co dot uk, dot com, dot net, dot org, those kind of straight to domains. So if you are a crafter for example with a shop on Etsy, eBay or Amazon, those large sites, you’re not able to do this at the moment with your shop site.
First of all click the verification button. Then download the verification file by clicking on it.
Download the file to somewhere you can find it again! That will be in documents, I’ll find it later. Now I am going to upload it to my web server, so I’ll pause this video while I log in and upload it.
If you’re on Cpanel, which is what I am, it’s easy to upload. Just log into your Cpanel and files and click upload and then choose the file name. That’s how quick it is.
If we whizz back now to Pinterest, it should just be a case of clicking here to complete the process. Ok, successfully verified, go to your profile, and you can see we’ve got a nice tick. How cool is that? Speak to you soon

Jan,
Oh my gosh, thank you for this post! I didn’t realize I had to click on that one link to download the file. I was over at Pinterest (before I found your message here) trying to figure out how to download that HTML file.
Then I came here and watched your video and it “snapped” for me. My god.. talk about me doing things the hard way! LOL
Great video – thanks for the help. I am now verified! Yay!
