June 25, 2014 by Jan Kearney

Many small businesses are taking the leap into ecommerce.  An online shop is an attractive prospect – make sales while you sleep, wake up flooded with orders…

It doesn’t quite work that way!

Opening up your ecommerce site, slapping on your products with a keyword stuffed description, hoping people somehow find you and then just click buy is a bit of a pipe dream.  Whatever platform you use, from Etsy to Amazon or your own website you need to market your products.

Content marketing helps you build your brand, build trust, keep people informed and turn browsers into buyers.  Not to mention it gives you something to post that isn’t “buy me now” on social media!

Where to start?  This handy infographic by ReferralCandy gives you 24 “Juicy” Tips for Ecommerce Content Marketing.

What a great infographic. Such fun.

I am currently working on finding the balance between what I love to write and what other people will enjoy reading. When you get that right, the only way is up 🙂

Great infographics used at their best, They really make reading information a lot easier. You are correct in saying that it is not the amount of people you attract but the people that will enjoy reading your posts and purchasing from you. This however takes time and a lot of perseverance.

I love that snippet from the infographic Elaine. It’s so relevant to local businesses – business owners seem to spend a lot of time trying to attract “everyone”. Thanks for popping in 🙂

Wow! What a ton of amazing information and so well presented.

Tip 11 about writing was specially relevant to me at the moment. (Although you can keep the 6:30am bit LOL)

I’ve got as far as the “big mess in a Word document” stage! Hoping to turn it into something better!

    Love the infographic!

Not only goes it help to read, and absorb, it’s also enjoyable. Learning is fun?

Only thing i could add, that is not exactly “marketing”, but how important customer service is.

Best part of the graphic, “Don’t pump content, pump passion”. So powerful. Plus when you pump passion, it can be infectious.

I seriously need to reuse my content more often. So many hours in a day, but I definitely need to space things out differently so I can recycle better! NICE infographic! A keeper!
