Google Places Local Search Bug
Earlier in the week, it became apparent that all was not well with local search. Searching for any local business – in the example below it’s Plumbers Widnes, everything looks fine. Until you click the “see more results” link.
You’re redirected to a local search results page as expected, but it’s missing pages. Great if you’re in the top 10 listings, not so great if your business is listed at rank 11 or below.
Clicking on “Maps” results in the left menu resumes normal service – several pages of local search results.
The problem was originally highlighted in the Help Group and has been confirmed as a bug and not some strange Google update. Google are working on it.
Google Helpdesk Hangouts – Social Media
This weeks Google Helpdesk Hangout was “Engaging with your customers using social media”. The hour long replay can be seen on the Google Small Business Blog.
Google Doodle for Earth Day
Today is Earth Day and Google are celebrating with flowers in motion photography. See it in action by popping over to Google search.
