2 Major Updates – Penguin and Panda

Well, I couldn’t fail to miss these with the amount of posts around the web.

Google announced they would be targeting web spam. This update was later given the name Penguin. While everyone was summing up changes and who was worst hit, Google then revealed they had unleashed Panda 3.5 a few days before too, which totally muddied the waters.

What is interesting – other than reading the screams – Google have released a feedback form for those people who believe they have been pecked by Penguin mistakenly. Find the form here.

AdWords for Video

Google made AdWords for Video available everywhere – including the UK. So now you can release those video ads and only pay when people choose to watch. Unfortunately the $75 free credits referred to in the announcement are only available in US and Canada.

Google Drive – Share everything from anywhere – maybe

Google released Google Drive…

…a place where you can create, share, collaborate, and keep all of your stuff. Whether you’re working with a friend on a joint research project, planning a wedding with your fiancé or tracking a budget with roommates, you can do it in Drive. You can upload and access all of your files, including videos, photos, Google Docs, PDFs and beyond.

Sounds great doesn’t it, very handy with 5GB free.

Unless you live in the UK…

Google Share The Love

In a Facebookish move, you can now share the things you like on the web rather than +1. The button is available to add to your website here.

Feel free to press my button in the bar on the right. Go on, you know you want to!
